"Why is there a Kelleytown, Georgia website?"
I have created this web site strictly as a side hobby in an effort to help preserve the wonderful history of Kelleytown, GA. My name is Beau Kelley. I grew up in Kelleytown, and the area is named for my family ancestors. I am a full-time real estate broker with Buddy Kelley Properties, Inc. in McDonough, and the real estate business occupies most of my time.
Many of Kelleytown's earliest residents are growing old. Before long, their wonderful stories and memories of their time in Kelleytown will be lost forever. There are also many people moving to the new quality developments and subdivisions in Kelleytown. I am sure they would like to know the history of their community, as well. The goal of this site is simply to preserve and inform...hence the slogan:
"The New Faces. The Old Charm."
Most importantly, I am searching for any stories and photos that you may want to share with your friends and neighbors. I will add pages to the site as information comes my way. I am particularly in need of early/vintage photos of Kelleytown, especially such landmarks as the Kelleytown Grocery Store/Gas Station, Cotton Gin, Kelley Presbyterian Church, and Kelley Chapel Baptist Church. Because this site was created for the benefit of the entire community, I certainly welcome your comments and suggestions.
